POETIC TRIAL

We now have R and D and Ethics Approval for this Clinical Trial.

It is known as the Trial of Perioperative Endocrine Therapy-Individualising Care(POETIC).  This trial is for post-menopausal women with breast cancer and is looking at whether having hormone therapy for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery helps improve outcomes in postmenopausal women with breast cancer.  The  Breast Cancer Clinical Trials Team at St. Margaret's Hospital, Epping and PAH, Harlow are recruiting patients into this trial.

MASQUERADE BALL - UPDATE

The Masquerade Ball on 2 October 2010 raised over £25,000 to support clinical trials at St, Margaret's Hospital, Epping and Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Masquerade Ball

A Masquerade ball is being held on on 2 October 2010 at the Manor of Groves, Sawbridgeworth to raise funds to support breast cancer trials at St. Margaret's Hospital, Epping and Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow. The Ball is organised by Jessica Bonnett, Fran Brabham-Neil,  Juli Dosad, Jacque Kelly and Ashraf Patel. 480 guests are expected to attend this evening. Rory McCrea is hosting the evening on behalf of the Breast Unit. The Charity auction will be conducted by Paul Donovan of Wright and Co in Sawbridgeworth  and has exciting items like a dinner cooked at your home by Celebrity Chef Anton Edelman , Dinner for 8 at the Chef's Table at Gordon Ramsay's at Claridges, London and football memorabilia. Kilimanjaro 2011

The next Kilimanjaro trek is from 11-21 February 2011. We have organised two Kilimanjaro treks before. The first one raised £65000 and the second one £110000. The next trek is jointly with In_magazine so for further details contact Zoe Hopkins on 07866714929 or me on 01279 827396.  This 10day trek is through spectacular landscape and your supplies and camping equipment will be portered. Already there are 10 walkers registered and more have expressed an interest. Expecting about 25 going on the trip.

Inca Trail 2011

The Inca Trail 28 May2011 to 9June 2011  is being held to raise money to support breast cancer clinical trials at St. Margaret's Hospital, Epping and Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow.
From the remote high trails of Salcantay to the legendary Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, this challenging trek on steep trails climbs to over 5000m in fantastic and diverse mountainous country.
Plenty of time is built in to help you acclimatise to the altitude while exploring ancient Cusco, capital of the Inca Empire. The trek then takes you across high mountain passes with breathtaking views, into lush valleys with high jungle, stopping at fascinating Inca ruins and temples along the way.
